As I wrote in the previous update, the new keyboard is working amazingly well. There’s a video here that show some of the details of how it works:
And I’ve posted some details on the main atomic14 newsletter here:
I’m really happy with the new latest version. I’ve tested pretty much everything and it all seems to work.
Waiting on Crowd Supply now to see if they will give the go ahead to start a campaign. It’s starting to get pretty exciting!
Hi Chris,
I hope this message finds you well! I'm just reaching out casually, understanding if you're busy and may not be able to respond right away. If irrelevant or getting too complex please disregard this. I've been pondering something and I'd love to hear your thoughts if & when you have a moment. As you continue to map out all the intricate circuitry and practical functionality of the ESP32 ZX Spectrum, I couldn't help but wonder about the potential for a unique twist in its design. Specifically, I'm imagining a configuration option that pays homage to Rick Dickinson's Vega+ design, but with an innovative addition – a clamshell form factor or where half of it could slide out to reveal the keyboard. In my mind, there's a personal sentiment attached to this idea, considering the challenges and disappointments that surrounded Rick's efforts with the Vega+. I believe that the circuitry and PCB layout you've been meticulously crafting could be harmoniously integrated into a 3D printed resin case inspired by his designs. With the expansion capabilities and the exciting features you're incorporating, I can envision this becoming a superior machine and a fitting tribute to Rick's legacy. I understand that this might be an ambitious and unconventional concept, and I'm curious to know your thoughts on the matter. Perhaps it's pushing the boundaries, but I can't help but imagine the potential of an "ESP32 ZX VEGA+" and the creativity it could unleash. Irrespective,... your work is brilliant. Wishing you all the best, Matt
most excellent!
